Jason Cone, Director of Communications Jason Cone is the Communications Director for Doctors Without Borders/Mèdecins Sans Frontiéres (MSF) in the United States. In this capacity, he has overseen crisis and advocacy communications campaigns for MSF on emergencies ranging from the Haiti earthquake to the plight of Lao Hmong refugees in Thailand. He has been a speaker on panels at conferences such as PhotoPlus and Social Media Week on the role and use of photography and social media in the work of a humanitarian aid organization. Cone has been a curator of photographic exhibits, Doctors Without Borders: Photographs from Afghanistan (1984-2004) and The Photographer: Into War-torn Afghanistan with Doctors Without Borders. He began his work in non-profit communications as a writer for the Center for Reproductive Rights, an international women's reproductive rights organization. Before joining the Center, he was a staff correspondent and online editor for the Earth Times, covering the United Nations and World Bank, and reporting internationally on issues ranging from the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Zimbabwe to poverty eradication efforts in rural India. Cone is a member of The Seminar, an annual meeting of public relations professionals. Cone graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a BA in Biology and Government. |
