Sophie Delaunay, Executive Director

Sophie Delaunay first became involved with MSF in 1993 in administrative and finance roles, then worked extensively in program management both in the field and at headquarters. Delaunay has worked on MSF projects in Thailand, Rwanda, China, and Korea, as well as in the French and U.S. offices. Delaunay worked for three years as Program Director in ESTHER, a French government AIDS agency, where she supervised the organization's programs in 18 countries.

Duncan Mclean, Desk Manager

Mr. Mclean has worked with MSF since 2002 in various capacities, including Head of Mission in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Nepal, and Chad, and Field Coordinator in Sudan, Thailand, and Myanmar. He has also provided operational support in Pakistan and Palestinian Territories and research in Nepal, Myanmar, and Thailand.

Nick Lawson, Director of Field Human Resources

Nicholas Lawson, Director of Field Human Resources for MSF-USA, began working for the organization in 1997 as logistical and administrative expert in an MSF project in southern Sudan, during that country’s brutal civil war. Since then he has held 11 other positions within the organization, which have taken him to humanitarian hotspots like Afghanistan, Burundi, East Timor, and Malawi.

Jason Cone, Director of Communications

Jason Cone has overseen crisis and advocacy communications campaigns for MSF on emergencies ranging from the Haiti earthquake to the plight of Lao Hmong refugees in Thailand. He has been a speaker on panels at conferences such as PhotoPlus and Social Media Week on the role and use of photography and social media in the work of a humanitarian aid organization. He began his work in non-profit communications as a writer for the Center for Reproductive Rights, an international women's reproductive rights organization.

Jennifer Tierney, Director of Development

Jennifer Tierney has been working with MSF USA since 2006. Prior to joining Doctors Without Borders, she worked with the microfinance organization FINCA International as the Major Gifts Manager.

Maureen Burnley, Director of Finance and Administration

Prior to joining MSF USA, Maureen Burnley was executive vice-president for finance and operations at the General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church. Previously, she served as chief operating officer of Family Justice Inc./Vera Institute of Justice, and associate dean at the New School’s Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy.
