Natural disaster response
MSF also supports the Philippines when natural disasters strike. In September 2025, following deadly tropical storms in the Ilocos region, MSF teams distributed hygiene kits. Soon after, when a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck Cebu province, we responded again by distributing drinking water and hygiene kits.
And after powerful offshore earthquakes in the Davao region in October, MSF offered psychological support and shelter materials to affected people and provided medical supplies to health facilities in the hardest-hit areas.
In November, we helped communities devastated by Typhoon Kalmaegi through mobile clinics, providing mental health support, delivering medical supplies, and deep-cleaning health centers. In Eastern Samar province, we trained local health authorities on how to identify people in need of mental health support and provide them with psychological first aid.
