Charitable Gift Annuities

With a charitable gift annuity, you can provide lifetime payments for yourself or a loved one and, as part of your legacy, help ensure the ability of MSF to respond to future emergencies.

How a Charitable Gift Annuity Works

You make a gift to MSF. We reinvest the assets and agree to pay you, or up to two beneficiaries you name, a lifetime annuity.  At the end of the contract, we receive the remaining funds.  Annuity payments are backed by segregated reserve funds  and are a general obligation of MSF.

Minimum Age: 65.
Minimum Amount: $5,000.
Assets Accepted: Cash or marketable securities such as stocks or bonds.
Payment Schedule: annual, semi-annual, quarterly or monthly.

If you are under age 65 and planning for your income needs during retirement, you may want to consider a deferred gift annuity, described below.

Annuity Rates

MSF applies the rates recommended by the American Council on Gift Annuities, effective as of January 1, 2012. The table to the right shows sample gift annuity rates. Rates are revised periodically. Please contact us for the specific rate for your age.

Deferred Gift Annuities Back to top.

If you are under age 65 or wish to defer the start date of your payments and increase your annuity rate, please ask us about our deferred gift annuities.  With a deferred annuity, you make a current gift but payments begin at a future date at least one year after the gift is made.  The minimum age payments begin is 65.  The annuity rate and amount are set at the time the gift is made.
