Plumpy’Nut is the brand name for a type of ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) that Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams use in our nutrition programs around the world. Our staff will typically give a severely malnourished child packets of RUTF every day for several weeks to help them get healthy again. Plumpy’Nut ingredients are fortified peanut butter, milk, sugar, vitamins, and minerals.
MSF is currently responding to nutrition emergencies in several countries around the world, including Nigeria, Somalia, Yemen, and Democratic Republic of Congo.
