On March 9 and 10, MSF participated in the 13th annual Nobel Peace Prize Forum sponsored by Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in cooperation with the Nobel Institute in Oslo, Norway. "Striving for Peace: Crossing Borders, Challenging Boundaries" was the theme of the two-day event at the college, at which Morten Rostrup, MD, president of MSF's International Council, gave the keynote address to more than 1,800 students, scholars, and community members. Board of Directors member Dr. Juliette Fournot led a seminar on MSF in Afghanistan. The purpose of the forum was to share a dialogue on the underlying causes of conflicts and war in modern society and the dynamics of peacemaking. On March 11, a Nobel Peace Prize Festival students was held at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. The annual festival, sponsored by World Citizen, Inc., is designed to involve schoolchildren in promoting a peaceful world. On March 8, Dr. Rostrup gave a talk to over 100 doctors, researchers, and medical students at the Mayo Clinic in nearby Rochester, Minnesota, for which he received a standing ovation.
