On August 26, 2016, ABC’s 20/20 will broadcast an hour-long episode documenting the extraordinary life of Kayla Mueller and the circumstances that led to her death. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) wishes to reiterate our deepest sympathy to Kayla’s family and friends. Her death was a terrible and tragic loss. She was dedicated to helping people suffering in crisis, the kinds of people MSF staff dedicate themselves to helping every day in nearly 70 countries around the world.

BRUSSELS/NEW YORK, AUGUST 8, 2016—A busy hospital that served as a reference center for pediatric patients in the town of Millis, in Syria’s Idlib governorate, was destroyed by aerial bombing on Saturday, killing 13 people and depriving 70,000 people of essential medical care, according to the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which provides support to the facility.

Gaziantep, Turkey, April 28, 2016Fourteen people, including at least two doctors, were killed Wednesday night in the bombing of a hospital supported by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, the medical humanitarian organization said today.

According to hospital staff on the ground, the Al Quds hospital in Aleppo was destroyed by at least one airstrike which directly hit the building, reducing it to rubble. Other airstrikes in the neighborhood also hit areas close to the hospital.
