LUBUMBASHI, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, SEPT. 1, 2015—A growing measles epidemic in the province of Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo, has sickened more than 20,000 people and killed 300 people this year, according to official figures, while resources to combat the outbreak are still lacking, the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) warned today.

BOENDE, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO/BARCELONA—The Ebola outbreak that began in August in the north of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is now under control, with no new cases detected after the last confirmed infection on October 4 in the town of Boende, Equateur province, the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said today.

PARIS/NORTH KIVU, DRC—One of four members of a Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) team abducted in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, more than one year ago was found unharmed Friday, August 29. There is no news regarding the three other staff members. MSF continues its search for them and has issued a new appeal to anyone who may be in a position to secure their release.
