Hospitals supported by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in eastern Aleppo have reported significant increases in the numbers of wounded patients following days of relentless bombing on the besieged city.

In just two days, MSF-supported hospitals admitted 145 wounded people and registered 23 deaths.

MSF is deeply concerned about the effects on civilians of these ongoing bombing campaigns.

Dr. Erlend Grønningen from Trondheim, Norway is a Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) supervising medical doctor at Boost Hospital in Lashkar Gah, capital of Afghanistan’s Helmand province. Dr Gronningen arrived in Afghanistan in April, 2016, and primarily focuses on internal medicine, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis (TB). This is his second assignment with MSF, having worked in South Sudan in 2014.

BARCELONA/NEW YORK, AUGUST 15, 2016 — A hospital supported by the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in northwestern Yemen was hit by an airstrike today, killing at least 11 people and injuring at least 19.

The attack on Abs Hospital, in Yemen’s Hajjah governorate, occurred at 3:45 pm local time and immediately killed nine people, including an MSF staff member. Two more patients died while being transferred to Al Jamhouri hospital. Five patients remain hospitalized.

BRUSSELS/NEW YORK, AUGUST 8, 2016—A busy hospital that served as a reference center for pediatric patients in the town of Millis, in Syria’s Idlib governorate, was destroyed by aerial bombing on Saturday, killing 13 people and depriving 70,000 people of essential medical care, according to the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which provides support to the facility.
