BRUSSELS/BELGRADE/NEW YORK—In recent months, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams in Serbia have treated an increasing number of patients reporting widespread violence and cruel and degrading treatment allegedly perpetrated by Hungarian authorities at the Serbian/Hungarian border, MSF said today, calling on Hungarian authorities to investigate and take immediate action to stop these brutal practices.

ROME/NEW YORK, OCTOBER 26, 2016—Twenty-five people onboard an overcrowded inflatable boat were found dead yesterday during a search and rescue operation by a Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) ship in the central Mediterranean, which saved 246 people from the boat and another nearby raft.

BRUSSELS/NEW YORK, AUGUST 25, 2016 — On August 17, while conducting search and rescue operations off the Libyan coast, the Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières(MSF) rescue vessel the Bourbon Argos was approached and attacked by a group of armed men onboard an unidentified speedboat, MSF said today, strongly condemning the attack.

ATHENS, GREECE/NEW YORK, MAY 26, 2016—As Greek authorities evict thousands of refugees from a camp in Idomeni, the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) denounces the involuntary nature of the eviction, the lack of information provided to refugees and the restrictions on humanitarian assistance during this process.

MSF calls on the Greek authorities to ensure that adequate and continuous assistance is guaranteed during the movement of people and in their new locations.

Valletta, Malta, April 24, 2016 — The international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) resumed  search, rescue, and medical aid operations in the central Mediterranean Sea, conducting its first operation of 2016 this weekend.

On April 23, the MSF vessel Dignity 1 accepted a transfer of 308 rescued people (205 men, 80 women, 23 children), mainly Eritrean, from an Italian rescue boat. The Dignity 1 is now on its way to Sicily where the 308 people will disembark on Monday.
