Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is shocked by the attack against humanitarian workers of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Jawzan Province, Afghanistan, on Wednesday, February 8, 2016. The attack resulted in the deaths of six ICRC staff and left two more unaccounted for.

MSF staff around the world send their deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of those killed. We also hope for the quick return of the missing staff.

At least 377 people killed over the past two weeks in fiercest bombings since the beginning of the war

Amman/New York, October 7, 2016—As eastern Aleppo witnesses the fiercest bombing campaign since the beginning of the Syrian war, access to health care has become extremely limited, the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said today. Seeking medical care is a danger in itself, with at least 23 recorded attacks on eastern Aleppo’s eight remaining hospitals since the siege began in July.

Hospitals supported by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in eastern Aleppo have reported significant increases in the numbers of wounded patients following days of relentless bombing on the besieged city.

In just two days, MSF-supported hospitals admitted 145 wounded people and registered 23 deaths.

MSF is deeply concerned about the effects on civilians of these ongoing bombing campaigns.
