For World Aids Day on December 1, 2017, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is launching a national multimedia awareness campaign "Zwa Nga Bien" (Look at Me Well) aimed at young urban audiences in Democratic Republic of Congo to address the stigma still associated with HIV there. Civilians are bearing the brunt of new violence in Bangassou and elsewhere in Central African Republic. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is working to meet the medical needs of displaced people, but many are too fearful to come for assistance.

Khalil is one of more than 430 people from over 40 countries treated by the Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) project Victims of Torture in Athens since it opened in 2014. Khalil was wrongly accused and imprisoned in Syria where he underwent brutal, sustained torture. He is now in Greece, walking on crutches from the electrocution he sustained, and hoping for recovery.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) opened Al Salamah hospital, in Aleppo governate in northern Syria, in 2012. The hospital is the most significant reference facility in an area that has been one of the hardest hit over the last six years of war.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)  vaccinated 710,000 people against yellow fever in 11 days in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The organizations is saying "Thank you" to all the donors and supporters of the campaign who made this possible. A vaccination campaign on this scale comes with numerous logistical challenges, such as managing the movements of 65 vehicles in densely populated neighborhoods and ensuring that the cold chain remains effective in keeping the vaccines at the proper temperature.

For children in east Aleppo, Syria, healthy or sick, the situation is becoming more critical each day. Food, drinking water and medical care are becoming increasingly scarce, while medical staff are struggling to cope with large numbers of wounded.

Since the end of September, a horrific bombing campaign has been underway in Aleppo, killing hundreds and injuring thousands. More than 250,000 people are living under siege in east Aleppo, and the eight remaining hospitals in the area are overwhelmed; doctors are working around-the-clock with limited resources. Dr Abu Huthaifa shares his story as a surgeon working in Aleppo for the past three-and-a-half years.
