Over the past six weeks cholera has swept across Mozambique, killing 46 people and affecting over 5,000, according to official statistics. Though cases of cholera have been recorded in Mozambique since December 2014, the epidemic escalated drastically in February, infecting some 3,500 people and killing 37. In Tete, the country's westernmost province, the situation is particularly worrisome.
