AUGUSTA, SICILY—The international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is launching a second ship to carry out search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea to assist people who are risking their lives trying to reach Europe by boat.

The ship, the Bourbon Argos, is carrying a crew of 26, including experienced search-and-rescue personnel and emergency medical workers.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA/BRUSSELS—The international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) welcomes the World Health Organization's declaration that Liberia is Ebola-free after 42 days with no recorded cases, while warning that the outbreak is not over, as new cases continue in neighboring Guinea and Sierra Leone.

Cross-border surveillance must be improved to prevent Ebola from re-emerging in Liberia, MSF said.

"The bombing of civilian targets, with or without warning, is a serious violation of international humanitarian law. It is even more serious to target a whole province.

Anne Kluijtmans, a Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) nurse from Holland, was on holiday in Nepal when the earthquake struck on Saturday, April 25. She quickly joined the MSF teams who had arrived in the country to respond.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is setting up an inflatable field hospital in Arughat, Nepal, a town in Gorkha district, approximately 83 miles northwest of the capital, Kathmandu. The 20-bed hospital will come equipped with operating facilities, as well as an obstetrics and maternity unit, and will provide critical health services in the wake of the April 25 earthquake.
