Natural Catastrophe in Indonesia, the Philippines and the Samoan islands. In Indonesia, MSF has focused its efforts on the country's isolated areas and, specifically, in the area north of Pariaman, where several earthquakes and landslides have occurred. Nearly 90 percent of homes have been destroyed.  Based on the latest estimates, more than 700 people have died and nearly 3,000 are missing.  In the Philippines, official reports estimate that 300 people have died in the floods and another 32,000 have been displaced.
