World TB Day: Rolandi in Georgia

Rolandi Mamulia came to the TB hospital in Zugdidi, Georgia, after a previous TB treatment failed to cure him. The doctors suspect he has drug-resistant TB and are awaiting the results of a culture test (to establish the presence of drug-resistant TB) carried out in a Belgian laboratory on the patient's sputum. Right now, Rolandi is on standard TB drugs to stabilize his condition. However his health in deteriorating rapidly.
