Mali: Vaccinating Against Meningitis Epidemics

MSF teams recently participated in meningitis vaccination campaigns in Mali and Niger using a newly improved vaccine. A campaign was also organized in Burkina Faso. However, according to the World Health Organization, a further $570 million is required to vaccinate people throughout the so-called "meningitis belt," a sum it hopes to secure in the next decade with help from strong commitments from institutional donors.
