Pakistan: A Hospital for Women

Maternal mortality is a major problem in Pakistan and the most vulnerable women are among the displaced and Afghan refugee populations. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) opened a women's hospital for emergency gynaecological and obstetric care in Peshawar in May 2011 due to a lack of specialist medical personnel there.
