MY LIFE WITH HIV

Market
Wang's story | 2/10 |

Market day is every other day in our village. Previously, people from the neighbouring villages would come to buy and sell their produce. Since 2001, many people in our village were found to be HIV-positive. Now, it is only our villagers who use the market.

HIV has also had an effect on our young people seeking jobs in towns and cities. They are discriminated against even if they are in good health. Employers require applicants to show their identity cards. As soon as the employers find out they are from our village, they reject their applications.
