Papa Jean: Every time Aids was mentioned on the television, I'd turn it off.
I tried to kill myself. I went to the fuse box in the sitting room and put out my hand, to electrocute myself. Just as I was about to touch the wires, my daughter Myriam came into the room. She asked for 100 francs to buy some oil.
That's when my life changed.
