Millicent was our neighbour and had been a very close friend of my wife.
In fact, before Rose died she said to me that she wanted Millicent to look after the children if she passed away. She knew the treatment wasn't working.
Millicent played a huge role in helping me with the kids. She would come and wash and cook for us.
Eventually there came a time when Millicent and I decided to live together as man and wife.
