MY LIFE WITH HIV

Bicycle
Victoria's story | 1/11 |

Four years ago, I had trouble breathing. My mother took me to the hospital. They did an HIV test and the result was positive. But nobody told me what I had, not even my mother.

I came home but my breathing didn't improve. I also had a cough. A few months later, my mother took me to the hospital again. They found that I had tuberculosis (TB). The TB treatment took eight months.

It was still difficult for me to walk long distances because I couldn't breathe easily. Sometimes I borrowed this bicycle from my best friend to go to the market or the health centre.

One day, I'd like to have a bicycle of my own.
