Ingushetia (Russia):
In this Russian republic, head of mission Gabriel Trujillo and Dr. Manana Anjaparidze are striving to ensure that Chechen refugees will not be forcefully sent back to Chechnya, where a savage war for independence continues to be waged with terrible repercussions for civilians. After being put under house arrest by Russian authorities for their advocacy work, kidnapping threats force Gabriel and Manana to temporarily suspend their mission. Another MSF worker, Arjan Erkel, is abducted in Dagestan and is still held hostage nearly one year later. (read more about Ingushetia)

Sri Lanka:
The people of Sri Lanka are finally seeing peace after nearly twenty years of civil war. In some regions, however, isolated acts of violence linger, forcing MSF to fight a continuing battle in rural health clinics and district hospitals. This is the case in the eastern town of Batticaloa, where a grenade attack forces French doctor Veronique Laloe to undertake a difficult operation. (read more about Sri Lanka)

Cambodia:
At Sihanouk hospital, in Phnom Penh, the only institution in the city offering HIV/AIDS treatment, doctor Eric Cua is fighting the deadly opportunistic diseases that affect people living with the disease. When one of Eric's patients arrives at the hospital with a serious allergic reaction and another exhibits a perilously high temperature, Eric struggles to diagnose and treat both patients in time.(read more about Cambodia)
