Post-earthquake assistance in West Sumatra, Indonesia

On Wednesday September 18, an 8.4-magnitude earthquake struck West Sumatra in Indonesia. A second violent earthquake followed 12 hours later the following morning.

The area between Bengkulu and Padang on the western coast of Sumatra was badly hit. MSF sent three teams of logisticians, doctors, nurses, and psychologists along with 230 tons of relief material.
