MSF has been assisting refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) from the Darfur conflict since 2003. This is a chronological record of events marking MSF's work in and around Darfur and some key events of the conflict. Many entries have links to MSF stories, press releases, reports, and multimedia with in-depth information on these events.

As of September 2008, there were 2,000 national and international MSF staff working in all three Darfur states and over the border in Birak, Chad, where 200,000 Darfuri refugees have sought safety. In these areas, every month, MSF provides assistance to thousands of people in need.
