MSF began work in Argentina in October 2002, after an economic collapse left nearly 60% of Argentineans living in poverty. MSF provides medicines, medical material and training to two hospitals in Jujuy and Salta provinces in the northeast, home to a high percentage of poor and indigenous people. At a national level, MSF is working to make essential medicines more accessible to society's most marginalized. In May 2003, MSF donated medical supplies and organized water and sanitation for 50,000 people displaced by . ooding in Santa Fe province.
