MSF has been in India since 1999

After providing technical support and follow-up for India's national tuberculosis (TB) program for four years, MSF is reorienting its TB work to be more patient-centered: MSF health workers have now been integrated into a Mumbai health post and dispensary to provide direct patient treatment. TB prevention, training and technical assistance continue. In Assam, MSF's malaria control program focuses on early diagnosis and treatment of the disease, especially in pregnant women and children, aiming to help some 200,000 displaced people in the area. In Jammu and Kashmir, MSF is providing psychosocial education and working to improve mental health care for wartraumatized people in Srinigar and Kupwara. MSF is also rehabilitating health structures and improving medical waste management.
