MSF has been in Mauritania since 1994

MSF projects in Mauritania concentrate on mother-and-child health care and nutritional therapy in marginalized communities. In the Bouhdida health center on the outskirts of the capital Nouakchott, the MSF team provides about 580 consultations every month focusing on primary and reproductive health care, with special emphasis on mothers and children. Mother-and-child health care is also the focus in Selibaby, in the region of Guidimaka. In both Saada, on the outskirts of Nouakchott, and in Guidimaka, nutritional support and malnutrition prevention work targets people at risk.
