International staff: 4 MSF has been working in the Philippines since 1984 MSF continues care and support for street children in the capital Manila. Through a day center and a mobile unit, MSF reaches over 250 children with services including medical consultations, supply of daily necessities, support for family reintegration and job placement, and, since April 2003, paralegal assistance. In Malabon, a slum on the outskirts of the capital, MSF runs a supplementary feeding center. MSF also remains responsive to emergencies arising from separatist conflicts in Mindanao, from February until June 2003 providing plastic sheeting for shelter to displaced people. In March 2003, MSF carried out a measles vaccination campaign for 3,500 displaced children. |
