MSF has been in Zambia since 1999

MSF continues to focus on HIV/AIDS and refugee health in Zambia. An integrated HIV/AIDS care project in Nchelenge includes education, voluntary counseling and testing, care for opportunistic infections and prevention of mother-to-child transmission, with plans to provide patients there with antiretroviral therapy by the end of 2003. MSF is also closely monitoring the repatriation process and nutritional situation of refugees from Angola. In Maheba refugee camp near Solwezi, MSF supports a dispensary and the government clinic; the clinic is the emergency referral facility for the entire camp of 50,000 mostly Angolan refugees. Malaria and tuberculosis are two key pathologies in the camp.
