Join us as experienced field anesthesiologist Dr. Gerry Bashein discusses his experiences over 12 years with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). At this unique in-person event Dr. Bashein will share stories and anecdotes gathered in over 15 assignments with MSF, including his work in Liberia, Syria, Libya, Sri Lanka, Haiti, and Nigeria, among others. Find out what the real challenges are when trying to perform surgical procedures in the middle of a civil war, or during the Arab Spring, or in places where health care is chronically insufficient.

All prospective medical and non-medical aid workers: join us for a presentation and question & answer session to learn more about how you can become part of Doctors Without Borders' field work. A Human Resources Officer will be on hand to discuss requirements and the recruitment process and a Doctors Without Borders aid worker from the local area will share their stories of life in the field.
