Volunteer with MSF

You can help MSF as a volunteer, in our New York office or remotely.

Below are some of the ways you can volunteer with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us.

Volunteer in our New York office

Local volunteers of all ages over 18, backgrounds, and interests enjoy contributing their time to the US office of MSF. Volunteers work in positions which may involve clerical work or specialist skills and experience.

To apply to volunteer in our New York City office (not as an intern), please complete the volunteer application form. You will then be placed in our volunteer pool. Once there, you will receive email notifications for volunteer opportunities, both short-term and long-term. Please note that you are eligible for any sort of volunteer position, depending on your qualifications.

Volunteer Outside of New York

From time to time, we may need volunteers for events around the United States. If you would like to be added to our national volunteer pool, and contacted about these opportunities, please complete our online application form.

Currently we are only able to accommodate office volunteers during regular working hours. All office volunteers must be able to come to our only US office in New York City.

To learn how we collect and use your information, please read our privacy policy.

Internships

In addition to office volunteering, MSF-USA offers a paid internship program. Paid internships are usually associated with a specific educational program or goal—whether formally endorsed by an educational institution or undertaken independently by a student. As such, internships demand a greater time commitment and more regular schedule but tend to have a more substantial component to their work than clerical duties.
