Work in the Field
Registered Nurses / Nurse Practitioners
As a nurse working for MSF your training and supervisory skills will be put to the test. You may be asked to take part in organizing a mass vaccination initiative for measles or triaging an influx of displaced people fleeing conflict. You may run a program to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV or be called upon to initiate a training program for local medical staff.
Note: MSF also recruits Nurse Midwives, Operating Room Nurses, and Nurse Anesthetists.
Requirements

Must meet general requirements

Minimum commitment of 9 to 12 months

Appropriate diploma, degree (RN or NP), and current license

Current or recent practical experience
(i.e. at least 6 months of clinical practice within the last 2 years)
Assets

- Infectious diseases (especially HIV/AIDS, TB)
- Public health
- Tropical medicine

Managerial experience
(e.g. as a charge nurse or nurse manager)

- Emergency
- HIV/AIDS

- Neonatal care
- Nutrition
- Obstetrics
