As an OB/GYN on mission with MSF, you will work in one of our 234 projects with reproductive health activities. In 2008, MSF medical teams provided antenatal care to nearly 600,000 women, assisted in more than 100,000 deliveries, provided prevention of mother-to-child transmission care to over 11,000 HIV-positive mothers, carried out post-rape care for nearly 10,000 survivors of sexual violence, and performed surgical repair procedures for 300 women with vaginal fistula.
On an MSF mission, your clinical skills and resourcefulness will be put to the test because the health care infrastructure in most of the countries and regions we work in may have fallen apart. As an MSF doctor, you will not be facing this adversity alone, as other MSF team members, both international and national staff, will provide technical back-up, including extensive
guidelines and protocols.
