Russian strikes last night have reportedly killed at least 15 people, including a child, in Ukraine. More than 100 people were injured in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro.
Among the injured were emergency ambulance state workers in Kyiv, who were wounded while responding to save lives. Repeated strikes increase the danger for first responders and civilians alike. People are not safe — not in their homes, and not even when receiving or providing help.
Several areas of Kyiv were struck, including a district adjacent to the Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) office and guesthouses. Staff took shelter, and our teams are safe.
“Last night, all our 90 MSF staff in Kyiv — along with their families and friends — were exposed to a mixture of fear and anxiety,” said Robin Meldrum, MSF country director in Ukraine. “In the district where our office is based, missile explosions shook buildings. Even over 1 km away, you could feel it in your body. People living directly nearby must have been terrified.”
MSF extends its deepest condolences to the families of those killed and wishes a safe recovery for all those injured.
“Last night’s attack reflects the daily reality for millions of people across Ukraine, who continue to face relentless and unacceptable attacks affecting civilians, health care, and essential infrastructure,” Meldrum said.
