Out of Darkness- fighting Hepatitis C
Olena Melnikova, 42-years-old, is having a session with Louiza Solodka, MSF peer educator in an MSF Patient Support, Education, Counselling (PSEC) room. Olena is one of the patients who underwent the hepatitis C treatment provided by MSF in Mykolaiv. PSEC is important to improve adherence to treatment while also fighting against stigma and discrimination. Having hepatitis C and often being co-infected with HIV, people are facing social stigma, which discourage people to get tested and treatment.
