Tina, MSF midwife, with the little Joud. Only 6 months old, she is the youngest patient at MSF’s clinic at the Sant’Antonio alle Gianchette parish, in Ventimiglia.

Because of the challenging humanitarian conditions of migrants in transit at the Northern borders of Italy, Médécins Sans Frontières-MSF has carried out an assessment of the main medical and psychological needs in the field. From the evaluation, MSF decided to intervene with reproductive health activities and psychological first aid (PFA).
In Ventimiglia, a team of cultural mediators and a midwife runs a small clinic within the Saint Antonio alle Gianchette Church. Here, migrant women, children and families pass during their journey to the French border.
