At 7:20 in the morning, logisticians off-load vaccines at one of the vaccination sites in South Sudan. The sites open at 8:00am, usually with a big crowd of children waiting for the vaccination team when they arrive.
In Yida, the team aims to vaccinate 90% of the 35,000 children in the camp and the host community. More than 100 staff have been recruited to perform the 5 days mass vaccination campaign. In total, around 140 people are working with the campaign. Nine vaccination sites have been set up throughout Yida with teams of 12 consisting of a supervisor, vaccinators, preparers, watchmen, crowd controllers and mobilizers.
