On June 1, 2015, the MSF Bourbon Argos Search and Rescue vessel rescued 325 people from three different boats on early Monday morning, most of these migrants coming from sub-Saharan Africa. Most people were in good condition and were relieved and happy to be brought to safety.
Only one case has been identified as an emergency: a man who was seriously exhausted and was too weak to get off the small boat on his own. The MSF team quickly put him on a stretcher and lifted him on the Bourbon Argos thanks to a pulley. MSF doctors rehydrated him and warmed him up and after a couple of hours, he was in better health conditions and was resting with the other people.
