In response to flooding in Myanmar, MSF has just sent teams to the heavily affected Sagaing region. Thousands of people are now living in makeshift camps located in schools, monasteries or churches. Many people are unable to return home because roads are cut off, or they have no home to which they can return.
A dengue fever outbreak that, according to official figures released by the Ministry of Health in July had affected an estimated 16,000 people nationwide since January, will be a significant focus of MSF activities during the flood response in Sagaing region. MSF will donate 13,000 mosquito nets to Kalay township to assist in the prevention of any further cases.
