After an offensive of IS forces into Azaz district on Friday, Al Salamah hospital (North Syria) had to evacuate all its patients and most of its staff. It remains open with a basic team of ten staff members to assist urgent cases for stabilisation and referral to safer health facilities. For months the frontline has been 8 kilometers away but on Friday got close to 3 kilometers. A day later the frontline moved back again to 6 kilometers. Patients were referred to other health facilities or transferred to Turkey. In two days, Al Salamah hospital has managed to care for 40 patients.
