Due to Boko Haram (BH) insurgency, the situation in Northern Nigeria remains critical, particularly in Borno State. The security situation in north eastern Nigeria remains unpredictable and volatile. There are an estimated 1.5 million insurgency-related IDPs in Nigeria, the majority in north-eastern states. There are 13 different IDP camps around Maiduguri, Borno's State capital. Large number of people is still displaced by violence, lacking health care services, shelter, and water and sanitation systems.
