This November, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) invites you to participate in one of our many Missing Maps Mapathons with colleagues and supporters from around the world. These events are a part of OpenStreetMap Geography Awareness Week (a.k.a. OSM Geo Week), during which a global coalition of partners, community groups, and map lovers will join together to celebrate geography.

A joint initiative founded by MSF, the American Red Cross, the British Red Cross, and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team in 2014, Missing Maps enables volunteers from around the world to update and create geographic data. Using OpenStreetMap—an open, free, and crowd-sourced platform—volunteers map regions where vulnerable communities reside, so international and local NGOs together with local institutions can better respond to crises.
