Roughly 60,000 people have been displaced from eastern Ghouta, near Damascus, to northwestern Syria in the past month. A significant number of these men, women, and children are injured or sick and in need of medical care. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) supports the main hospital in charge of triaging and treating these patients at a location known as the "zero point," where people arrive on buses.

Ahmed was 14 years old when he lost his left arm. “I had gone out to press olives,” remembers the young Syrian. “We were on our way home. A plane flew by and dropped a barrel bomb that exploded, and shrapnel hit my hand. It felt like there was something dripping on my leg. I looked at my arm. It was completely torn off. There was one thread that held my arm to my body. I asked myself, ‘What’s going to happen to me now? It’s finished. I’m dead.’”

Two airstrikes hit a densely populated neighborhood in the town of Harem in Syria’s Idlib Governorate yesterday afternoon, said the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières Friday. The nearest MSF-supported field hospital saw 63 injuries and 38 deaths—around half of which were children—in a town where medical staff are already overwhelmed and supplies are limited.
