Becoming a Doctor in DRC: Innocent's Journey

"I am most proud of my profession when I am able to offer relief to someone who really needs it," says Dr. Innocent Kunyuwana. Innocent grew up in a rural area of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), raised by parents who worked hard but couldn't afford to send all of their children to school. He became a doctor and is now the first Congolese physician to lead MSF's emergency team in the troubled province of South Kivu, DRC.
