“I learned not to be sad anymore”: In Mosul, an injured child goes home

Anas was 11 years old when he was paralyzed by a mortar attack during the Battle for Mosul in Iraq in 2017. In April 2018, he became one of the first patients at the Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) post-operative care facility in East Mosul. One year later—after eight surgeries—he is finally going home. In this video, Anas talks about his journey of recovery and dreams for the future.
