As Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams responded to COVID-19 in the United States, we saw the impact of longstanding racial disparities in health care. We saw how COVID-19 is disproportionately hurting black, Latinx, and Native American communities. In the US, black and Latinx people have been three times as likely to get COVID-19 as white people and twice as likely to die from it, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Racism is a public health crisis. We all need to work together to confront these challenges.
