Our dynamic Development Department is responsible for raising over $350 million annually in funds in order to meet the financial needs of our organization.

The Marketing Team is responsible for executing integrated marketing efforts, including prospect, renewal, and cultivation campaigns and activities via all communication channels to maximize the revenue and increase awareness of MSF’s activities, concerns, expertise, and values.

Doctors Without Borders seeks a Marketing Manager for Canvassing and Telemarketing. As canvassing manager, you will grow our monthly donor program. As telemarketing manager, you will oversee acquisition, retention, and cultivation calling across the marketing team.

You will practice brilliant campaign execution — on time, on target, on budget, on brand. You will scale our monthly giving program and manage calling for all donor audiences.

You will play a pivotal role on a high-energy, innovative, and growing marketing team.



In this role you will report to the Senior Manager for Sustainer Giving. Your responsibilities will include:

Canvassing Strategy & Execution. You will manage planning, reporting, and implementation for our growing sustainer acquisition program.

Telemarketing Strategy & Execution. You will collaborate across the team to plan, execute, and report on telemarketing for all audiences.

Vendor Management. You will manage more than seven canvassing and telemarketing vendors to meet ambitious spend, revenue, and membership goals. You will build relationships, delegate, create accountability, and set and track KPIs. You will push our programs to improve and innovate.

Quality Assurance. You will ensure a warm, ethical approach to create positive experiences for donors and the public. You will aim to make our canvassing and calling feel like interactions with internal Doctors Without Borders staff.

  • You will connect staff to our mission and motivate them through regular program updates.
  • You will monitor calling and canvassing and give ongoing feedback to improve quality and performance.

Creative and Messaging. You will oversee scripting for both canvassing and telemarketing making rapid updates as needed in crisis situations. You will oversee production of print and digital materials to support the campaigns.

Management support. You will back up the Senior Manager for Sustainer Giving as needed.

Travel. You will make regular visits to our canvassing and telemarketing vendors, and join international skill-sharing meetings.



You will excel at brilliant day-to-day execution. You are results-oriented and have a data-driven decision-making approach. You should also have:

  • A dedication to meeting a high bar and a history of overcoming obstacles to get things done.
  • A track record of successful teamwork and relationship building.
  • Experience handling many projects and the ability to manage for results.
  • An ability to embrace and channel the Doctors Without Borders mission and voice.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to present and persuade.
  • A willingness to canvas and call for Doctors Without Borders - and train others to do so.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.

Experience with canvassing, telemarketing and monthly giving programs, and a nonprofit background are pluses -- but not requirements.

Starting salary mid 70s to low 80s (commensurate with experience).
