PM Modi: Keep India the Pharmacy of the Developing World

On September 28, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières' (MSF) took advantage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi being in New York City to send him a message. Thanks to the country's patent laws, India is the pharmacy to the developing world; MSF sources 80% of its HIV drugs from India among other essential medicines. The U.S. is pressuring PM Modi to make India's patent laws more restrictive, which would benefit big pharma companies and cause millions of people to lose access to affordable medicines.
