Treating children with tuberculosis in Tajikistan

MSF

As challenging as it is to treat tuberculosis (TB) in adults, it is even harder in children, whose less robust immune systems make them especially vulnerable to developing TB. In Tajikistan, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) partnered with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan to develop our pediatric TB program. We support both the children’s TB hospital, and children who are in outpatient treatment.

In recognition of World TB Day, learn from MSF doctor, Zumrad Khamroeva, about the challenges of diagnosing and treating children with TB, MSF’s innovative family-based model of care, and our ambitious new plans for the Zero TB project.
